Begai is a sophomore studying in the George Washington University in School of Business, with a concentration in International Business and Marketing, and a minor in French. Originally from The Gambia, a small country in West Africa bordered by Senegal and the Atlantic Ocean. She lived in The Gambia for ten years before moving back to DC to continue her schooling. Begai works alongside the BSU to design ELS curriculums; and to support Black students in navigating administration if they have experienced any Diversity and Inclusion or Title IX violations. As well as being an active member of the African Student Association, as well as the Black Girls Mentorship Program. Additionally, she is the co-host of a podcast on GWRADIO.com and Spotify, called “To Be Honest.” Begai and her co-host created the podcast to amplify the marginalized voices of today’s youth. To Be Honest gathers guests to unpack issues that plague our society through engaging in in-depth, candid conversations about our diverse life experiences.
