President's Corner
Welcome to The Black Student Union at the George Washington University! Founded in 1968,
The Black Student Union’s goal, above all else, is to create a Black experience where all
Black students feel supported, welcomed, advocated for, and cared for.

My name is Devon Bradley and I am a senior studying Criminal Justice and Political Science in the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences. I am from Florida and have a passion for hikes whenever time permits. I value service, progress, and turning words of promise into action. As your president, I have had the honor of a lifetime to lead such an incredible team of service-oriented leaders. My team and I have accomplished unprecedented measures here at GW because of you and your powerful voices. We are honored to serve and look forward to the continued success of our community.
The Black community at GWU is strong and unified as one body. We support our neighbors, join our friends in discovering new academic passions, and fight daily to leave our positive light on a world that can appear so dark. Our community is also lively and creative — consistently exploring the many talents we hold as Black students. From music to dance, sports to art, our community is a melting pot of excellence.
I am reminded of my mother’s advice to my twin brother & I in childhood: “leaders always step up to the plate.” Now, as each of us continues on our respective paths, it’s always time to step up to that plate, together, as one community. Welcome to the Black Student Union!
